What makes the Uruguay-Nordic Chamber of Commerce special
The Chamber has its origins in 2006, when it was founded as the Uruguay–Finland Chamber of Commerce, in the context of the establishment of UPM's first plant in Uruguay. Over the years, and in the process of collaborating with different companies and actors linked to the Nordic ecosystem, interests and opportunities began to emerge from other countries in the region.
In 2008, the Chamber expanded its scope to include Norway, Denmark, and Sweden, and finally, in 2015, Iceland also joined, thus forming the current Nordic Chamber in Uruguay. This opening up to the different countries that make up our organization promotes greater links, development, and protection of foreign trade by connecting member companies with a larger number of entrepreneurs in different sectors of activity.
Our mission is to develop and promote commercial, economic and cultural relations
between our country and the Nordic countries.
We share information on foreign trade. We promote, increase, and expand commercial, industrial, and cultural exchange. Not only that, but we facilitate the establishment of sustainable productive investments in Uruguay. We increase the volume of Uruguayan exports to the Nordic countries.
